Snorkelling and scuba diving will be the highlight of your stay in Komodo Island. Whatever option you choose, you will be able to observe a great variety of colourful fish and corals. If you’re lucky, from November to March during rainy season, you might encounter manta rays, reef sharks, hammerhead sharks and turtles while diving.
While on the island you can’t avoid a trek to encounter the biggest lizard in the world, endemic to the region, the Komodo dragon. It will be another highlight of your stay in Komodo Island. You can choose the path you will follow depending on how trained you are. The deeper you go in the island the more chance you have to see one of this giant lizards or… you can go next to the kitchen of the rangers’ lodge and you can be sure you will see Komodo dragons. You can also hike to a viewpoint overlooking the bay of Rinca, breath-taking!
Right between Rinca Island and Komodo Island, Padar Island is isolated and wild. After just 20 minutes walking you can reach a viewpoint overlooking Komodo National Park. It is a bit steep but it will be all worth the effort once you’ve reached the top. If possible try to do this short hike at sunrise or sunset to enjoy the stunning colours of the sky, most definitely a highlight of your holiday in Komodo.
This is a must when in Komodo: relax or explore one of the seven beaches of pink sand in the world. This pink colour comes from the combination of tiny fragments of red coral and white sand.
Take the time to enjoy a peaceful moment during your cruise in Komodo area. From your private boat deck admire the amazing colours of the sunrise. If you are lucky you might see dolphins playing around the boat. This scene of bliss will be a highlight of your stay in Komodo Island.
